For My Mom

My mom. I never really knew what exactly my mother went through when I was a child. She was a full time mom, she worked full time, and still made time for the family. I just thought that was what she did. She made it look easy. Now I am a full time mom, I work full time, and I understand just how hard it is to combine both lives. Being a mom is the best job I have ever had. And it makes me appreciate my own mom even more. So take some time this Sunday, pick up the phone, and call your mom. Get her something nice. Do something out of the ordinary for her. Or simply just make a card to express your love and appreciation.

Here is the card I made my mom for this Mother's Day. The very cute doodled flower is Digital Stamp from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff and you can find it here. I painted the image with watered down acrylics so the stitching on the stamp would come through. Then I used my craft knife to 'lift' the inside petals up so they are raised a bit. Finished it off with a Prima flower and red crystal heart in the center.

Other products: Patterned paper, Die Cuts With a View. Border stamp, Studio G. Vellum. White Sakura Gelly Pen. Ribbon, brads, and cardstock unknown.

It's amazing what we learn about our own mothers after we become mothers ourselves. I'm sure your mother will be very proud to receive this lovely card, and I agree with Lindsay, you should write those words in it for your mom. Happy Mother's Day!
