Pink Stamper's Christmas Card Challenge

Hey there my friends. Just thought I would stop by and post a few Christmas Cards that I made for a recent challenge from The Pink Stamper.

The first card uses traditional Christmas colors of red, green, and gold. The base of the card is from DCWV, as for the rest of the card it was made from scraps . I have no idea of the manufacturers of the other products.
I love using more of the non-traditional colors for my holiday cards. Pinks, blues, purples and bright greens. In the next two cards I used the Mr. Frosty Imagine Cartridge.

In the first card I used some misc. items such as ribbon, glitter, and added some neat silver accents using Dazzles.

The second card was made with just the Cricut Imagine. I used the Mr. Frosty cart along with regular carts, Wild Card and Christmas.

Will be making plenty more in the week's to come. Please check out my Etsy store if you are interested in any of the above cards!

Admitting something's wrong

Please note that the following post has little, if anything to do with crafting, paper, or scrapping.

I am embarrassed to admit there is anything wrong. Maybe that is why I am typing it out here. Maybe no one but my 61 followers will ever read this. Maybe someone will once again come to my rescue. Not that I deserve it. But my son does. He has done nothing to deserve any of what me and my hubby of nine years are putting him through.

Sure, from the outside we look like a normal family. Hard working husband and father. Me a stay at home mom since I lost my job a year and a half ago. That should have been the first clue. But we failed to take the hint. Less money coming in, should mean less spending. NOPE. We are obviously not smart enough to take hints that BIG.

So we get money from Uncle Sam, and instead of putting it away, what do we do? We buy a brand new TV, a vacation to Disneyland, and a computer.....that we put on a brand new credit card promising to pay it off. HA! Life is grand..... who cares if bills get paid on time.

So for those mistakes we fall into a rut.....one bill is late and we rob Peter to pay Paul. Then rent is late....what's an $85 late fee? No worries we will get caught up next month. Again, HA! Another year goes by and rent was late probably 9 out of those 12 months.....$765 in late fees that should never have happened in the first place.

Uncle Sam comes round again.......this time it's another laptop and an iPad. Gotta have the latest and greatest. Screw the bills. Now we are behind on rent, the car, the cable, the utilities......ask for help. A kind soul grants us the help we need, and yet we still dig in deeper. Out to dinner 3-5 times a week.....we have to have the latest Blueray......and yes, I needed that damn Cricut Imagine. Like Hell!! More late fees.....more money out the window!

As I sit here and type this on my relatively new computer, I have an eviction notice and a notice to end tenancy from my landlord, my phones are currently shut off, and I had to borrow some money to refill a prescription. I sit here in the dark, sleepless, cause all I can think about right
now is what the HELL are we gonna do??? Who in their right mind would rent to us? I sure wouldn't.

Like I stated earlier....we did this to ourselves.....but I never thought of the consequences it would have on our child. At the end of next month, we may be out on our butts living in our van. What good will the new TV be then? The laptops? NONE.

We need to make a serious shift in our priorities and we need to do it quickly. No more spending. If we don't NEED it, we don't buy it.

School starts in just over a month, I need to buy clothes, supplies....heck because of the current residence situation, I am not even sure where my child will be attending school this coming fall.

So yes, I admit, I have a spending and budgeting problem. If you know someone that has been in a similar situation and made their way out please post a comment, I would love to hear some advice. No haters, please....your comments will be removed.

Getting the juices flowing

I know I have not posted in awhile. All this rain is making my depression worse. I have upped my meds and gotten a Happy Light.....yes, light therapy.....it works.
So I finally got back to my crafting table. I still have no desire to scrap yet. I need something to spark my creativity there. But I did create something. Something that I truly love. I think you will love it too. This has definitely got my creative juices flowing.....
Beaded Floral Mug: "Bloom"Each stem is individualy beaded and twisted with a beautiful glass bead. A couple floating butterflies flutter around this little floral arrangement.Added to the mug is the word, "bloom." It was designed using the Cricut Gypsy. The word is from the Gypsy Wanderings cart, and it is colored using a pattern from the Nursery Tails Imagine Cartridge. Then it was cut and print on printable vinyl using the Imagine. A small paper flower and another glass bead are attached.
I will be adding these to my Etsy shop and they will be customizable and go for $20 each. They are the perfect Mother's Day gift, birthday gift, etc. They can hang on a wall, I have added mine to a my bulletin board, or they are available with magnets to hang just about anywhere. A clip to add a picture can be added as well.
Please let me know what you think!

A project for the day after the party.....

Hi there! A little note before I get started:
Excuse me if this post sounds a little off. I have had a half a bottle of Champagne to myself. Of course a great project came out of this so just bear with me! ;o)Isn't this just the cutest??

Day after the party:
Step one: Find the discarded cork from the wine or Champagne. If needed, shave the bottom so that it lays flat.

Step two: Create little things to adorn your cork. In this case I used a flower that I made using the new Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut Cartridge and colored the flowers on my Imagine using the Nursery Tails Cartridge. I added a little ink to the edges for some dimension. I also used a word, "smile," from a chipboard sticker set.
To the back of these items I attached a piece of wire. Using my paper piercing tool, (ouch,) I poked 3 holes in the cork and put in the wired objects.

Step three: Tie a cute little bow around the the cork, and voila! DONE!! Isn't just too cute.

I think this this would make a nice little present topper, or a teacher gift. Something the kids could make for Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, a birthday! You could add a little photo to put on your desk at work......the possibilities are endless!

Thanks for stopping by!
