Too upset to photograph....

What a morning! I woke up this morning and walked out of my bedroom to find my office/scraproom door open. It gets closed at night to keep the dog and cats out. Well, when I walked in there this morning, I looked at my scrap table and about screamed. Last night I had finished a layout and was all done but for the journaling. This morning my wonderful little 3 yr old decided that it needed some finishing touches. He proceded to pour an entire bottle of Modge Podge on my completed layout. He was also kind enough to 'paint' himself with it as well. I was in his hair, in his eyebrows, on his arms. Luckily I got Chase to clean him up so I could get ready for work.

I was so mad that I did not reach for my camera. As I am thinking about it now, it would have made a great layout. But they say that hindsight is 20/20. Oh well. I really don't think that I want to relive that awful morning again.

I was able to salvage the photo, and I think I have enough of the same papers to redo the layout. Wish me luck, I really liked the design of the layout!

No Patience......

Ok, so this was supposed to wait until Thursday to post, but it turned out too cute not to post it now! So I will just have to find some more time to play this week, and come up with another project for Thursday!

So, I got to playing around with this cute little Doodled Ladybug from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. Then while I was going through some of my vacation photos, I came across this adorable pic of my niece wearing this cute little onsie with a ladybug on it! INSPIRATION hit! So I got to work, and decided to incorporate it with this month's Mystery Item Challenge at HYWWP. The mystery item this month were these cute little buttons from Doodlebug Designs. I printed out the digi stamp x4 and then used my colored pencils to color them in, They still looked a little bland to me so I dressed them up with some Red and Black Stickles. I used one of the buttons for the head and used the Black Stickles again to make the antennae on the paper. Raised each one up with pop dots.

So just how many can you?

That's right how many pictures can you fit onto a 1 (one) page layout? I found out that I can fit 43 pictures on one 12x12 piece of paper. This consisted of 42 1.6in x 2in photos and 1 4in x 6in photo.

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff + TRI Shutter Card = Wonderful

I started off this week not knowing what I wanted to work on. Well as I was hopping through some wonderful blogs, I came across The Craftiblog. There, I found this wonderful tutorial for a TRI Shutter card. It looks complicated, but it was amazingly simple. Just a few scores, two cuts, and voila! Unique card. This card gives you plenty of area to EMBELLISH! I had so much fun, I think everyone should try this card!

It's all about the Photo!

Don't ya just love it when everything falls into place?

Lately I have been struggling on my layouts. I just can't figure out a good design. Sure I look to the blogs and message boards for inspiration, but I still could not get a firm grasp on anything. Then last night I was working on another layout. I love the photo. I took everything about the design from this one photo. The color, the dots, the summery feel.

Here, take a look:
So the next time you are in a rut, take your cues from the centerpiece of any layout, the photo!

Find the Freebie Thursday!

Freebie? Who said freebie? Lindsay said freebie, but it's not here. :) You will have to visit and search all of the other DT's blogs in order to find this week's 'tasty' free digi stamp! You can find the link's to everyone's blog at the end of this post!

Now onto this week's layout for Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. This week I chose to use the Patriotic Patchwork Quilt. This cute stamp is available for only $1!!!

I decided to try something new this time since I got my new printer. I printed the stamp on photo paper and colored it with my Bic Mark-its. I liked the way it colored for the most part, the only issue I had was with the lighter color (yellow,) it smeared the printer ink. Then on the outside edge of the stamp, I used Flock and handstitched with blue embroidery floss. I really like the way it added a softness to the image. I continued the quilt and stitching theme throughout the rest of the layout with blocking, stitching and buttons. Thanks for looking!

****Reminder*****
You can still take advantage of this month's sale over at Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, just spend $10 in the store and you can get any one of her card kits for FREE!

Oh yeah, you want links to everyone's blog to go a hunting for a freebie.......while your looking don't forget to leave some love!

What I did on my summer vacation....

So here I am, a week later and I finally feel like a human again after returning from my vacation on Monday. Me and CJ had a fabulous time visiting my mom and dad in Arkansas. My younger sister lives there as well, and my older sister and her two daughters came down from Chicago. It was great to have all five of the grandkids together. Made for some very trying photo ops. We went to the zoo, horse back riding, swimming, went on the duck boats, and got into a huge water fight just to name a few of the fun things we did. I also won a little over $200 between bingo and gambling at the race track! Whooohooo! Here are some pics from our wonderful trip.

So now that I have a TON of pics to scrap, I got started this afternoon. Here is the first layout I have completed from my summer vacation:
